Description
Walkin Wheels Dog Wheelchair med/Large 13"-16" FOF, 9" Struts, 12"tires, blue. very slightly used in original box!We bought this for our 13.5 year old standard golden retriever who developed Degenerative myelopathy. (See last picture of Biscuit using wheelchair). .
She used it a few times just in the front yard. She had lost complete control of her back legs very quickly and was very weak on her front legs so she wasn’t able to use it much as she would get worn out quickly. It did help her to stand when she needed to go to the bathroom which became a big issue.
We bought this wheelchair from Walkin Wheels. After she passed we packed all the pieces back into the box. There are different specifications for medium/large wheelchairs so be sure to measure your dog and get the right size struts.
The description was for a 13.5 year old golden retriever, 60 lbs, female, fof (which stands for fold of flank) 15”. You can go to the Walkin Wheels website and fof is the same as rear leg height. I called Walkin Wheels and they said this rear only wheelchair is good for dogs with fof 13-16” and 35-70 lbs. They show how to measure the fof on their website. The model is a R FC4-912 which means 9” struts and 12 “ wheels.
Note: this will work with other breeds just check at the Walkin Wheels Website.
