The medal was for honorary bestowal on a member of another service or a foreign serviceman for a worthy mission involving 10 flights on a RVNAF or allied aircraft. The medal comes in four grades.
Early version used wreath in place of jet.
First grade (1000 hours) has a gold jet or wreath device,
Second grade (600 hours) has silver jet or wreath device.
Third grade (300 Hours) has a bronze jet or wreath device,
Honor grade, plain.
Gold colored metal with prongs 1/2 x 1/2 inch in size.
