    Description

This 2 1/4"H x 3"D stone polished pot with raised corn motif is by the late Hopi potter Iris Nampeyo. Iris comes from a long line of potters, including her mother, Fannie Nampeyo, and her grandmother, the famous Nampeyo of Hano. She was a member of the Corn Clan and corn, one of the four sacred crops, is often represented in her work. The pot is signed on the bottom but is not dated. It was originally purchased, I believe, circa 1990, from Andrew's Pueblo Pottery in Old Town, Albuquerque, and is likely from that time period. Excellent condition. One owner. Ships fully insured. Please Note: I have been asked if I would consider lowering the price on this pot. If Iris were alive and still producing, I would consider doing so. However, since Iris passed away in 2018 and, did very few pieces in the years before that, I have decided against it.
