Vintage MICHAEL KANTEENA Laguna Pueblo, N.M.,  pottery pitcher with handle. This white clay piece has a traditional black geometric design. Beautiful one-of-a-kind piece, very typical of KANTEENA's work which has a deliberately ancient look with variations of color on the surface. No cracks, chips or repairs. Signed "KANTEENA Laguna NM Salado 1150" (I do not know what Salado 1150 refers to.) Purchased at a gallery in Santa Fe many years ago. It has been displayed as art in my home since purchasing.
Approximate measurements: 5.75" high from top to bottom of bowl. Diameter across top opening is 2". Width at widest part is approximately 4.75".
Update: A kind viewer suggested the "Salado 1150" reference is to a category of ancient Pueblo pottery that perhaps inspired the artist to create this contemporary piece. "1150" would be the estimated time/year in history this type of style was produced.
