Wonderful Patty Maho signed Hopi low bowl. Signature is difficult to see but it is there. Please note repair to front edge of the bowl, performed by unknown person and unknown time. Measures 8" across and 2" high. Patty was a very important potter and this bowl reflects her and her sisters great skills.Patty Maho was born about 1904 and lived for about 89 years. According to John Collins, Patty Maho did “not paint designs on her pottery; her sister, Mamie Nahoodyce, painted for her.” Mamie taught herself to paint pottery. Patty Maho did not go to school, so she spoke only Tewa. Ms. Maho was Paqua Naha’s niece, cousin of Sadie Adams and Lena Charlie, aunt of Beth Sakeva and great aunt of Neil David, Sr., and great-great aunt of Alfonso Sakeva, Jr..
