Description
9.25 inches high, 7.25 inches wide. I was told there is a date of 1756 in this letter but I cannot locate it because I cannot read this. I had someone summarize the contents, which are of a Jewish merchant named "Salon Vidal" from "Carpentras", that he will re-pay the debt he owes by Christmas. He signs his name twice in French and Hebrew (!), and on the reverse side of the document it states "Declaration Salon Vidal, Merchant Jew".
